Can’t Do This Alone

One of the things that gets lost in the messaging for this work is how much fun it is to be in a room - even a virtual room - with a group of people dedicated to freeing one another from the places they’ve been stuck. It’s a reciprocal agreement that works when everyone involved is fully opted in.

We can’t do this work alone.

The only way of doing this particular work is by sitting in a group of people and seeing our reflection in others, which we always can if we’re looking through the lens of: “You and I are parts of a collective consciousness, here to inform each other.”

It’s not,“This is my story and I’m sticking to it.” It’s, “This has been my story and it may be time for me to let it go. I’m ready to not let it define who I am if it's no longer serving my highest good. I’m ready to release it and to redefine myself.” Or perhaps it’s just time for you to allow yourself to be redefined.

And that is a very powerful place to come from, because no one’s experience is more informed or more enlightened than your own when you’re in flow. You’ve just been convinced otherwise by those who believe what they believe for any number of reasons having nothing necessarily to do with you. Your path is your path and theirs is theirs. We each get to carve out our own paths. And…

We can’t do this work alone.

This is a field where you get to practice compassion and you get to practice empathy, not as a charitable act but as enlightened self-interest. We are all separate and we are all equal. If you believe otherwise, you are operating under false pretenses. The false pretension club is a very big one. We really do have our work cut out for us.

I know: there are people who “just don’t get it.” If we put judgment aside and get curious about those people in our lives perhaps we will discover that as much as they don’t get "it" we don’t actually "get" them and that, if we are open to hearing it, even they have a message for us. They are, after all, just as much a part of us as anyone else.

We have moments and opportunities like these throughout our lives, quite by accident. We can have those moments intentionally and continually when we put aside our assumptions and listen without prejudice.

The Witness Circle was created as a safe space to practice this consciousness intentionally before taking it out into "the world of the continual".

The next Witness Circle begins on October 11th. It will run for 6 consecutive Tuesdays at 11:00am pacific/2:00pm eastern.

In order to participate you will need to be prepared to come with an open mind and heart. You have nothing to prove here. You only need to show up as yourself with a willingness to expand your notion of who you are; what that self is. As always, you're invited to take a look at the website, find a bit of inspiration, read about the course, and if you have any questions, send me a DM.

With love and respect, Jack
